Welcome to my humble UA-cam channel, which I created long ago and mothballed for a long time until I decided to re-purpose it for ‘locksport’ related videos. This means opening locks without the key or combination. My main inspirations are the LockPickingLawyer and Bosnianbill (LockLab) channels. The first reason why I'm publishing these videos is simply because it's fun and I'd like to share the fun with others. The second reason is to inform people about what they might believe to be secure products that aren't.
Of course I adhere to some strict principles and so should anyone else wanting to replicate what is shown in these videos:
* In short, don't do anything illegal.
* Never open locks that do not belong to you unless the owner explicitly asks for it.
* Never use these skills to get into places you don't belong, except in case of emergency.
* Never cheat. Cheating is for lamers.
The update interval will be random and can range up to several months.

Decoding an ‘antique’ Chinese combination lock
The earliest date I could find that refers to this style of lock is the 1790s (ciphermachines.com/jefferson). Of course this particular one isn't antique at all, it is a modern mass-produced gadget sold at a bargain price. For once, the fact that it is made in China actually makes it more authentic!
This proved surprisingly non-trivial to decode until I figured out that the classic approach doesn't work and you kind of need to use the inverse of this strategy. Then it can be opened in a matter of seconds.

Carrefour ‘Security’ Padlock Picked
Переглядів 3746 років тому
This is a cheap padlock from my local supermarket. It boasts a ‘security’ label but this is nothing but marketing fluff, as it is about the most standard lock one can buy. Due to lack of security pins, I reckon these locks can be easily raked open if their key has poor bitting. This particular one however I selected for its interesting bitting which, in combination with the paracentric Yale-sty...
Unbranded Drawer Cabinet Lock Picked and Gutted
Переглядів 9136 років тому
Drawer cabinets are often ‘secured’ with a wafer lock that can be easily raked open. Not this one though: it is a very decent 5-pin lock of excellent build quality even though I have no idea where it was manufactured. This lock is actually much more secure than the simple wooden cabinet it came from. Nobody would bother with picking it because it is much easier to drill away the wood around the...
3 Little Padlocks Picked: Yale, Viro, and Roldan ‘Xica’
Переглядів 7616 років тому
I pick three very different padlocks from the 30mm size category: a French budget padlock from a miscellaneous products stall in a supermarket, an older Italian Viro padlock with excellent tolerances, and a brand new Yale Y110/30 padlock. In my opinion, the Viro wins this one because I cannot manage to pick it open on command every time, each picking is different due to the extremely tight tole...
Travel and TSA Lock Security, or Lack Thereof (Pacsafe Prosafe 700)
Переглядів 6 тис.6 років тому
I discuss the security level of typical luggage locks, using the Pacsafe Prosafe™ 700 as an example. Spoiler: the security level is almost inexistent. These locks are only good at preventing someone from quickly zipping open your bag and snatching something out. The addition of TSA locks has probably further reduced the security level considerably (jump to 01:42 to see why).
Kasp 14040 Solid Aluminium Padlock Picked and Gutted
Переглядів 5546 років тому
This is my first lock picking video inspired by the LockPickingLawyer and Bosnianbill channels. The lock is a Kasp 14040, and from the length of this video you might think it gave a newbie like me a lot of trouble. The actual picking however only starts at 02:38 and most of the rest of the video is taken up by my clumsy disassembly. The main reason why it didn't give me much of a challenge is p...
Ticking Digital Clock
Переглядів 2,4 млн12 років тому
For an experiment I needed a simple boring video showing playback time inside the video itself. Although I could not believe nobody else had not yet made anything like this, I could not immediately find anything suitable, therefore I made my own. The video is 30 minutes long, shows elapsed time in minutes:seconds and total seconds, has a ticking sound, and does not contain anything interesting ...

Even more classic!
BBC MUSIC
This has been useful for my boxed breathing exercises to reduce anxiety and stress. Instead of pacing in my head, I can count the ticks, and the sound gives me something else to focus on.
